Frequently Asked Questions

how do i get to triveet lake lodge?

Triveet Lake is not directly accessible by road. Getting to the Lodge requires either:

  • Chartering a float plane out of LaRonge. It is a 20 minute flight.

  • Driving to neighbouring Morning Lake and arranging passage with the local residents to the short overland portage into Triveet. The drive to Morning Lake includes a gravel road, a logging road, and an unmaintained road. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

Detailed instructions for both options will be provided during the booking process.

do i need to bring drinking water?

Yes. Triveet Lake Lodge is removed from all outside services, and there is no potable water. Lake water is suitable for cleaning, but drinking water must be brought in.

Yes. Everyone who fishes in Saskatchewan needs a valid fishing licence, and needs to have it with them while fishing. It is best to print off a copy and bring it along. There are a few exceptions, but most guests will need a fishing licence. You can find more information and purchase yours here.

do i need a fishing licence?

Yes. Operating a power boat requires a licence in Saskatchewan. Not everybody in your group needs a licence, but those who operate a Lodge boat do need one.

do i need a boating licence?

Yes. The whole season’s worth of certain supplies such as propane are brought up during winter. Simply select a full propane tank and change out the empty one.

is there extra propane for cooking?

Yes. Triveet Lake Lodge has solar panels that charge a bank of batteries and provides electricity for the refrigerator, freezer, led lights, and for general use. The solar panels typically cover all power needs, but there is also a backup generator just in case more is needed. High draw items such as hair dryers do not work well with the system, and are best left at home.

is there electricity?

Yes and no. Cell phones on their own will not find a reliable signal. However, the main lodge has a signal booster that makes basic communication possible. High bandwidth activities like video streaming or online gaming will not work well.

is there cell service?

Yes. Triveet Lake Lodge has beds with mattresses, but you will need to bring your own sleeping bag or other form of bedding.

do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

There is an assortment of rain gear in each cabin, so even the rain doesn’t have to stop you from fishing! Sizing cannot be guaranteed for everyone, so bring your own rain gear if you don’t want to risk being left out.
If you prefer to ride out the weather indoors, there is an assortment of games at the Lodge that your group is welcome to enjoy. The titles may change from time to time, so if you want something specific, be sure to bring it with you.

what about bad weather?

what if something breaks?

Sometimes life happens and equipment breaks. The best part of Triveet Lake Lodge is the peaceful, isolated wilderness - but that can also prove to be a challenge. If something breaks, please contact the Lodge at (306) 221-0532. We know the Lodge inside and out and can provide assistance.
